Star-conductor Lorin Maazel’s life has been like a fairy tale. He started conducting at the age of seven. TV-Journalist Cherno Jobatey wants to know what life is like when you are touring the United States conducting an orchestra as a twelve year old. “I just lived my life” replies Maazel. But music hasn’t been everything. He studied Mathematics and Philosophy before he resumed his musical life. “Right now I am very happy with the New York Philharmonics”, Star-conductor Lorin Maazel says modestly.
