Cherno Jobatey From a Stand In to TV-host with an Own Show

But once you are on the air... word gets around.
Cherno goes nationwide hosting the game show “Header” on ARD network, anchoring regional news in Berlin and Brandenburg, and the youth show “Really Cool”. He gets infected with the “entertainment bug” when he presents the Variety show “2 at Noon” at the International Broadcast and Television Fair in Berlin.
Cherno Jobatey is a member of the original anchors team of the Breakfast TV news show “Morgenmagazin”. In a very short amount of time he becomes the trade mark of the show. The show wins top viewer ratings. “Morgenmagazin” continues to be highly successful and Cherno still is a crucial part of it today.

But every now and then the “Morning-Guy” moonlights, because he loves to work late:
For two seasons Cherno hosted the daytime game show “Memory”. This was followed by five years of presenting a TV Classic, the German Candid Camera Show “Verstehen Sie Spaß” (Are you game?).
And then, he get a shot at his own brand at the station RBB: "Cherno – the Talk Show". For four years he is interviewing a unique mix of guests, - ranging from big names to the so called average person ,-  in his own witty and charming style. Viewers relish his well prepared, no-nonsense approach  that focuses on the “little guy” as much as on the “heavyweights” with the same abandon. All of this is happening in prime time, right after the eight o’clock evening news. With Cherno Jobatey’s personal style the show gains a market share of sometimes 24%.
But for a "news junkie" (Die Welt) there is nothing more thrilling than the world of politics. At best in the morning, in the middle of Germany’s capital Berlin.
